Tatadohama Beach - Shimoda

Visited this place this month which is late spring and swimming was prohibited. The water was so cold despite having a sunny day. The place was very picturesque and is visited by a lot of people, majority of which are couples. I was lucky enough to see the sand art displays here.

2015/3/20 Beautiful sand beach White and refreshing. It is certainly Shirahama. Is the sandy texture similar to the inner sea beach in Aichi? I thought that there is a beach called Shirahama in Nanki Shirahama, but the beach itself is called Shirahama.

A small sandy beach that was virtually deserted, but clearly beloved of surfers. There were a few trying the rather small waves. Either end of the beach holds points of interest a natural tunnel rough the rock to the sea (used for small boat launching) at one end and some wild rock formations and caves at the other. The area isn't built up at all. I was here early April, so off season.

Absolutely gorgeous beach. The sand is imported from Australia and doesn’t feel coarse at all. I visited during the winter so there was no possibility of going into the ocean water. However, the beach is very clean and the water is clear as well! This a must visit if you’re in the area.

Shirahama has come to a small time. I went to Japan to become an adult. It was so white! I was surprised. It seems that the sand is imported from Australia. There is no waste and the water is clear. It is wonderful that there is such a beautiful beach near Osaka city. The parking lot is free of charge.
