Branches Fresh Food Experience

The food is all just...okay. The drinks are premixed, so you can't get some of them virgin like you could if they were made from scratch. The salads were fine, just not amazing. The appetizer was pretty stingy and tasted fine, just didn't wow us. The main course, pizza, was also good but non descript in flavour and texture. The dessert was probably made elsewhere and shipped in. I seriously could have made our entire dinner better myself. All in all, $65 isn't a bad deal in these crazy priced days for a date night, but for us it's a rather long drive for mediocre food, almost all of which was not made from scratch (we could see the kitchen work going on and it's more prep than cooking). Also, there were 6 9 staff during most of our stay who were rather immaturely standing around laughing and watching people. Having worked in this industry myself, that isn't acceptable; one should always be ready to serve their table but should always look busy and not stand around so openly chatting where your guests can hear and see. We did see they're hiring an assistant manager there perhaps this person will whip things into shape staff wise, at least. We wouldn't be likely to return unless we did make the trek to the greenhouse and really couldn't wait to get back to town for food. I will reiterate, though, the food is not BAD...it's just not what we'd expected from photos and reviews we'd seen.

I'm never disappointed by the fresh, flavourful fare at Branches, but yesterday, my smoked salmon pizza shot them to the top of my favourites list. It really was a sublime, decadent balance of salty, sweet, smoky, creamy, tangy, and cheesy atop the lightest, yummiest crust. A squeeze of lemon and fresh dill knocked it out of the park. Everything I've eaten since has been meh by comparison, and I NEED another one SOON!! (My friend had the chicken pesto pizza, which was also stellar.

The service at this restaurant was friendly and courteous! We enjoyed the Happy Hour appetizers, which were delicious, and are looking forward to returning for Date Night.

Love Branches so much- everything is great, but lattes cappuccino are not! Just wish they get new better flavoured coffee, as “Haven”, ” Roasty”, or “Transcend” have!? Then it would be totally perfect!

I love visiting the Greenland Garden Centre and Branches restaurant I just feel so happy when I’m there! I am always happily greeted by the friendly staff every time I visit and I love bringing family, friends and business colleagues there for brunch, lunch and dinner. It’s also perfect for a couples date! The food is so fresh, delicious and reasonably priced! I most recently had the breakfast piadina and I must say that it was THE best breakfast sandwich I have ever had! The fresh vegetables and herbs in the sandwich made it for me! I paired this with the peach sangria and it just elevated my brunch and made it extra special! For dessert I had the lemon tart which was neither too sweet or too tart. Our server was so lovely and was helpful and attentive! I will be back at Branches again very soon I’m sure!
