Bidrage med feedbackThe location and atmosphere are decent, but the food is terrible. The restaurant really needs to improve the quality of their dishes. It's a shame.
Where do I start? Firstly I organised to be picked up by the Shelly Beach Golf Club courtesy bus. After waiting in the heat for 15 minutes after pickup time I rang and was told the booking had been put in the wrong section. The girl was apologetic and we were picked up 20 minutes later. We were a group of 6 and ordered the Oysters, salt and pepper squid and tempura prawns for entree. The oysters were ok but the squid and prawns looked like those frozen ones you buy. The waitress cleared the table and spilt soy sauce all down the back of my husband's shirt. We were unaware until he got up to go to the bar. He complained to the manager and was told to take off his shirt and he would wash it. After saying how could he possibly do that, the manager offered to have it dry cleaned. Mains arrived. I had ordered the Rib Eye steak with Diane sauce and vegetables. It arrived with Pepper Sauce and salad. Sent back. Came back and they had obviously just scraped off the Pepper Sauce...leaving peppercorns on the steak and poured the Diane sauce over it. My friend had ordered Pepper sauce on the side. It came with sauce on the side AND over the steak as well. Another complaint to the manager who became quite rude and aggressive towards my friend. He had offered us free dessert and coffee....but to be honest...none of us wanted dessert and coffee. At no time did the words "I'm sorry" come from his mouth. It ended with a free bottle of wine. The whole night was soured by a manager with a bad attitude and unprofessional staff. We will never eat there again.
We met friends here for lunch on a busy Friday. The menu was quite extensive and very reasonably priced. Servings were generous and the food fresh, well presented and well cooked. The service was excellent. The view across the golf course to the sea was delightful. My only complaint was that it was quite noisy, but then our visit was during the busy holiday period.
We ate lunch at Seaspray recently upon arrival the staff stared at us rather than asking if we'd like to take a seat. Eventually after one came over to greet us we were seated in the middle of the restaurant next to 2 loud tables and with no view. I mentioned in a friendly manner that we had booked and specifically asked for a seat with a view - the waitress motioned to the window 5 tables away and said "there's your view" then stormed off.Luckily another waitress was kind enough to allow us to move to one of the many empty tables closer to the window, however this seemed to annoy the other waitress quite a bit and she was rude to us for the rest of our service. The food was quite average - somehow one end of my steak was cooked 'well' and the other end 'medium-rare' (which is what I requested). The best part of my surf and turf was the sauce. Chips were unseasoned and the salad was horrid.I won't be returning that's for sure.
This is my go to place for dinner out with friends or family. They have a large amount of seats where you can soak in the view of the golfing green and ocean. The service has always been prompt and efficient. Make sure you book ahead if it's a weekend or you have a large group though as it can get busy. They have a great range of entrees, meals and desserts including a specials menu and a menu for kids. If you are a member of the club you get discounts on your meals and drinks which is great. They also have high chairs and paper covered tables with crayons for the kids to draw on. The last few times we have been we have had bar service from our table which is a great edition. Would definitely recommend stopping by for a meal and a glass of wine.
