Marimba's Mexican - Shelbyville

We chose to sit outside and were pleasantly surprised when live music began to set up on the deck. While we did experience a delay in service (it took about thirty minutes for our appetizers to arrive), the entire staff was very friendly. Fortunately, we weren't in a rush, and drinks were served much faster than the food, so it didn’t pose a problem. The quality of the food was above average for Mexican cuisine, and the prices were typical for the area. Overall, with its beautiful ambiance, good food, and reasonable prices, Marimba offers a great value.

A family friend dubbed this the best Mexican restaurant in Shelbyville, KY, and with so many options available, I decided to take their suggestion without looking further. The first visit was a delightful surprise! I was really impressed with Marimba. The food was served hot and fresh, and the flavors were amazing. I ordered a combo with a chicken burrito, a beef burrito, and a beef taco, and I enjoyed every bite. It was absolutely delicious! However, I must admit I was a bit envious of my wife's perfectly spiced carnitas. We also checked out their buffet, offered on Fridays and Sundays, and loved sampling the variety of dishes they had. Marimba is now my go-to Mexican restaurant. It's just fresh and fabulous!

Lots of very good quality food and very inexpensive. Service was amazing and the drinks were also excellent. Had enough to take home for 2 additional days. The outside was nice and our server was amazing. The salsa was good (get the hot) and just a great Friday evening. I will be back in October when I visit Shelbyville again!

I hadn't been here in many years. The husband suggested it last weekend oh my goodness!! It was great!! We both had the buffet. Great food. Great service.

Love this place! I haven't had any bad food here. The chicken and rice is delish. I always get tamales and rice and beans. Plus they're Texas margarita is on point. Definitely recommend.
