Letting me back in there letting me drink alcohol beverages there
Ok, this isn 't gorurmet and it isn 't a classy joint. It 's a dive bar in the middle of a small community that has a reputation ...but as far as dive bars go, it 's a good one. The food is good and the drinks are cheap. The service is friendly and nobody seems to care what you look like...as long as you don 't come in looking like a hipster or a yuppie I asked for a Michigan made beer and I got looked at like I was from Mars....but they have what you need. You 're at a place that has tried to rename itself so it can distance itself from it 's questionable past...but all the locals still call it The Orangeville Tavern. There 's more than one Confederate flag in the immediate vicinity....we are squarely in the North, so you get what I mean. This isn 't a fancy place...not in the slightest, but it 's like a step back to a time where you didn 't drink something because it was interesting...you drank it because you liked it....and you didn 't eat the food because it was farm to table or vegan/gluten free ...you ate it because it was on the menu and you wanted to eat it. This is not a bar for people that are trying to change the world, this is a bar for people who remember how the world got where it is..this is a bar for people who built America and are still doing the job. This is a bar for Real Americans ...with dirty cars, worn out work boots, and calloused hands. This bar is the neighborhood living room....and I am looking forward to coming back home in the near future.
Stop by for a delicious pizza or to try your luck with the lottery. You could be the next fortunate customer to purchase a winning Club Keno ticket worth $10,000, just like an anonymous patron did on February 3, 2020. I wonder if the bartender knows who it was—let's hope the winner left a generous tip!
It truly embodies everything it should, and I absolutely enjoy every aspect of it.
