Wow Cafe - Shelby

Went for wings to find out they put a Starbucks in. And I love me some starbucks.

My wife, son and I ate lunch here. I had the beef stew which was nice and lean though a bit dry and only had beef and potatoes. I forgot what my family had but we all enjoyed the experience. My wife went back later in the week with her sisters.

My friend and I were visiting Shelby and walked past this cute diner and decided to give it a try for breakfast. As the sign up front indicated, we grabbed our own seat and waited for our waitress. We ordered a sausage omelette with home fries and a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with hash browns. The waitress recommended either the hash browns or home fries so we decided to try both! Everything came out fast, hot, and fresh. Everyone that we encountered was very pleasant, always checking to make sure we had everything we needed. If visiting again, we would definitely stop back by for breakfast.

Oh.. I wanted to so like this place but didn’t ? . After finding on TripAdvisor passing through and after reading the reviews we just had to try.. The place was packed but wish we’d went somewhere else. Ordered the Hamburger steak plate with onions , French fries, slaw and $1.49 the other ordered breakfast. The salad was good then came our food. My fries just by looking at them had been sitting quite awhile and the person that brought out should of never brought them out like that. I had to ask for some fresh ones which the taste ended up being like the first ones so had be the grease or something. The hamburger patty was cooked so done it was dried out and wasn’t good at all.. the breakfast they said wasn’t nothing to write home about. Our booth when I got up I had sticky syrup all over back of my legs.. ?. Our waitress was very kind… First visit and would never go back. The feeling inside was so stuffed and grungy like just needs a deep deep cleaning. Really disappointed especially after reading the reviews as I think most the reviewers must have their taste buds burnt off..

Not worth the 20 minute drive; after seeing all the reviews. The decor and joint is old school. The door greeter was nice. The food was just okay, Mac and Cheese over cooked. The waitress sucked. No refills; only after I finish my meal. Bathroom were clean; not likely to be “Sea Bassed”! I would making a special trip like we did.
