Zizzi Meadowhall - Sheffield

I went to this restaurant with my wife, who is an omnivore. The restaurant was busy, but we were served promptly and taken care of well. The pizza was delicious and the portion size was satisfying. The dessert was also tasty, and we were happy to find out that most of the alcoholic drinks were vegan-friendly.

I tried to avoid this restaurant because the gluten-free pasta dish came with a lump of chicken in it. I believe it was a joke from the kitchen staff, but to each their own. It might be safer to order pizza instead. The vegan bolognese was good, but overall, this branch is not as good as the one in Sheffield.

I have been a fan of Zizzi since before I became vegan, and I believe their pizzas are some of the best I've had at a mainstream restaurant. When I transitioned to a vegan diet, I was thrilled to discover that they offered vegan options with cheese. I must admit, I have only tried their pizzas for main courses because they are so delicious that I never feel the need to try anything else. My go-to order includes balsamic onions, fire-roasted red peppers, and roasted garlic on a Rustica base, topped off with a drizzle of their chili oil. The vegan cheese has a mild flavor, similar to a super mild mozzarella without the stringiness, which I really enjoy. I have yet to try their vegan desserts because I am always too full from the pizza. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you are dining with non-vegan friends.
