Bidrage med feedbackI absolutely love New Roots and frequent the restaurant often, especially for their delicious pastries from the deli. Located near Sheffield University, I always recommend this place to my friends. They specialize in Fairtrade products and also offer a variety of fruits, vegetables, books, handmade cards, and toiletries. Additionally, they support a charity that helps destitute asylum seekers and have a donation box and petitions for various causes. The atmosphere is always lively with posters and ethical cartoons, along with friendly staff. Their deli offers tasty vegetarian and vegan pastries and wraps from companies like Forest Foods and Saker, as well as snacks and cakes at a reasonable price. The shop also has a selection of chilled vegetarian foods. The latest addition to the shop is the 'Speakeasy cafe' downstairs where you can enjoy your food and relax on a sofa with access to a CD player, ethical magazines, books, and a restroom. They also offer affordable teas, including herbal and fruit options. Although New Roots is not located in the city center, it is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are in Sheffield for a while, as it is just past the University of Sheffield.
I frequented the store often last year, particularly to restock on laundry and hair care products. However, I recently noticed that it was closed. I hope they are able to find more volunteers soon to assist asylum seekers with the charity's help.
If you are in the area, New Roots is definitely a place to go and explore. They always have delicious vegan sweet and hearty food options, they are operated by volunteers, they don't throw away Veggies just because they are brutal and the staff is always for a chat.
This restaurant review praises a beautiful shop, café, and community area in Sheffield. The space is great for events and volunteering opportunities, with a diverse range of people to meet. They offer fresh, organic, and local fruit and vegetables, as well as a wide selection of vegan snacks for takeaway. Hot and cold drinks are also available for takeaway or for enjoying in the shop. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. The reviewer recommends trying the two-week Veg Box for an easy way to get your vitamins. Overall, a highly recommended place with a quirky and fun atmosphere.
Hotel in rundown Burngreave, this is a treasure house, the whole day vegan breakfast is just 2,50, so please go buy it and try the vegan carrot cake even if you can.
