Bidrage med feedbackThis used to be “ Florida Cracker Kitchen “ never visited this place due to the name alone We’re African American). Sorry, but with the current political climate it was a bit off putting. My Husband and I normally travel outside for a DJ Brunch experience. He stumbled upon this place on Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised. The name change to 1937 was a great idea, much more welcoming for all ethnic groups. Very modern and trendy atmosphere. Reminds me of the spots we frequent in Atlanta. Great new name, great atmosphere, great food, great bar design, and visually appealing. We will definitely be back again! Thank you for elevating Jax. This city is need of an upgrade.
My family.. myself, my husband, two boys 18 22 went for dinner on Friday night. The food was great. We had ahi tuna bowl, fried shrimp (large), burger and quail. Everyone loved their food and best thing… left full!! Oh had shrimp toast… so good. I would highly recommend for food and atmosphere. We sat outside… vey
Waited for 15 minutes before we were greeted and our drink order was taken even though there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Drinks were not great, but we didn’t say anything. Was told that food was on a 10 minute hold, even though we ordered the pimento cheese dip and it’s just a scoop of cheese with packaged crackers. Not sure what the wait would be for. We were never checked on, to see if we needed anything and had to ask another waitress for our check because our waitress just disappeared. Unfortunately we will not be back, which stinks because this place seemed really promising and we like to eat at local places.
Atmosphere was great! Even with kids. The staff accommodated my toddler so well. But I did get food poisoning for the poke. I even mentioned to the staff that it tasted fishy. A few of the other dishes were Heavy on the sugar (even foods you wouldn't think should be sweet). The staff did get me a new pork chop which they charged me for which is fine, but I'm so nauseous that I haven't been able to try it and They also didn't take the poke off the bill until after I tracked down the server and trey questioned me on why I shouldn't pay for it. (Of course they were nice about it though).Over all, I really want to like the place. And we may try something else another time, just maybe not the poke salad.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp inside to get outside patio i thought was very thoughtful
Ambience is A+. Great vibe they even had a DJ for jags game day event. Service was dialed in. Ordered smoked fish dip which was actually quite good for fish dip. At this point we even texted friends that they should check it out. Then the entrees arrived. The unicorn fish entree was difficult for my wife to cut with a knife and fork. Didn’t know this was possible for a fish entree. The buttered kale was a gut punch. The swamp slaw was heavy and bland. My sons poached eggs came out cold. My blackened grouper was heavy on the seasoning and the oil. Overall great vibe for drinks and an app before dinner or during a game. Would not go back for a meal. We love San Marco and wanted to love this place but they need to revamp their primary menu.
