Mesquite Canyon Steakhouse - Shamrock

Wonderful service and great food! Would definitely stop again!

First time eating here since new owners. Under the old ownership (about 12 years ago) the food was excellent and steaks were tender and full of flavor. This time my ribeye was overcooked, tough, no flavor, and full of gristle. Once I was able to get the attention of the server my steak was replaced with one that was rare on half and medium on the rest. Not as tough but still no flavor and still had gristle. Thank God for ketchup and salt to add flavor. You would think with a name like “Mesquite Canyon” the steaks would be cooked with mesquite or have some flavor. Service was sub-par. Waited 20 minutes for the check. The server never asked if I needed my water refilled and my wife had to find the server to request a refill for her drink. On the upside, the staff was very friendly when you could find them. It was NOT a busy night.

If you are ever in Shamrock, TX and looking for a bite to eat you can't go wrong here. Just order the chicken fry and if you manage to eat all of it just crawl to the door when your done. Awesome food.

What a great place to eat! The BEST onion rings ever, along with wonderful service from happy people...I plan to spread the word from my hometown in VA to my second home in NM!!!
