Inlet View Grill - Shallotte

It’s a great place for a drink, but the wait was long, the food wasn’t very good at all, and the service was slow (except at the bar downstairs). The seared scallops were not seared and yet were overcooked. The crab dip came with stale and fake colored chips. It was quite a disappointment.

Service was a little slow. Waited awhile to have our drink order taken (it’s HOT, we were thirsty). Food was excellent, so much so, we ordered 1/2lb of peel and shrimp to go. They didn’t provide cocktail sauce (I don’t know about you but cocktail sauce is my fav thing with shrimp), so I poured some in the to go box (from the bottle on the table, that we had already used about half of). We were leaving (already paid for our dinner) and the server chases us down with the bottle in hand and asks to see the to go box to see how much sauce was in the box. Now if I’m not mistaken, cocktail sauce is usually something that comes with shrimp; however, I guess not if it’s to-go. She said we would be charged $5.99 for the cocktail sauce (it was about 1/2 a cup full, not too much for the amount of shrimp we had). She says she needs to get the manager, I’m standing there baffled that we are having an issue over cocktail sauce and being chased down by the server with bottle in hand. Seriously!? I’d think after spending $60, some cocktail sauce would be the least thing they’d worry about. Please know, the food was fantastic! Highly recommend the peel n eat shrimp. Just don’t go crazy over cocktail sauce. Another server came out to see what was wrong, we explained, she looked in the box too and gave a look of annoyance and said y’all go ahead, don’t even worry about that. So thanks, Sarah, for making our, what would have been a great dining experience, end with utter chaos in front of half the restaurant.

Food was good, atmosphere was nice. The only issue we had was sitting outside under a shade tarp with the sun shining under it. Very hot! Suggest seating inside.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Bar serves a very tasty Orange Crush. Seafood was fresh and tasty, and service was fantastic. Sitting outside gave a good view of the water to complete the ambiance. Would recommend and definitely come back.

I love the view. Food wasn't bad, but had to get them to remake several items because it wasn't like I requested it. It's pretty expensive, but I expect that with most places on the water.
