Bidrage med feedbackWell done Team! Took my elderly parents with the four of us. Super helpful staff and really tried to make my parents feel comfy in every way. Super knowledgeable about the food and when you ask questions, they answered accurately. Food timing was impressive considering that every can be made with exactly what you request. Obviously I ordered too much as I wanted to try as many flavours as possible. Ordered wontons in a broth. Dimsum with a dipping sauce. Seaweed tacos (fried nori sheets in a taco shape). One with firecracker tuna (I think it’s called that) and one with steamed prawn in mayo. We also ordered their version of the hotdog (rice filled, shaped and then fried). And a bunch of bowls. Little bit spicy at times (just ask for no heat or less heat) , but everything was so fresh and crunchy and the flavours were phenomenal. If I had to crit anything, I would say the tempura prawns on one of the bowls were over cooked. Everything else was faultless! Can’t wait to return. No booze license so it drops the bill. we had all the food in the photos plus a bunch of soft drinks for a tad over R1,000. So def not expensive.
At first, I was skeptical about my partner taking me to Pangeli assuming this was going to be another typical Durban Asian cuisine experience, with the same boring stuff on every typical Asian menu. I must say I was amazed when the food hit the table. Every meal was fresh and the presentation was exceptional. The restaurant was clean and the vibe was welcoming, stuff was really friendly and helpful with the menu. I can honestly say our food was made with love….really looking forward to plugging up the rest of my mates.
In celebrating our wedding anniversary weekend, we opted to take a drive to a well known Asian artisan restaurant in Salt Rock. It had been forever since our last visit and we were pleasantly surprised with a larger sized venue which accommodated many more eager and enthusiastic patrons. It still encompassed the same fresh and vibrant atmosphere which is so unique and inviting. Upon stepping foot within the doors, we were welcomed to the upgraded version by Shaun, the wonderful owner. He had taken the time to sit at our table and listen to our individual preferences. With his passionate culinary savvy, he guided us through their delicious menu and offered exceptional advice for our food selection suited to each of our appetites. Our taste buds were treated to an astronomical amount of exotic flavour, from the sweetness of Vietnamese coffee, the tantalising taste of the tacos and finally culminating in the joyous feast of the ramen bowl. The Restaurant never ceases to amaze with its presentation of delectable cuisine, appealing ambience and knowledgeable staff.
This was an accidental find but one of those 'I can 't BELIEVE I didn 't know this place existed for so long how did I miss it?! ' kind of finds... In a word 'ecstatic ', because that 's just how good the food is. It makes your taste buds leap with joy. I 'm hoping to be a regular. Ps for a couple of months I felt devastated that Pangeli 's seemed to have closed but yay! They 've re opened bigger better, now with inside seating and more dining options! The gelato fridge is a must!
Nothing like it on the East Coast. So glad there's and addition to the sit down area. Great food.
