Bidrage med feedbackI'm gonna break some poor locals hearts here, but this is pretty bad barbecue. This is the most obvious flytrap of a barbecue joint I've ever seen, genetically designed to prey on the weak and weary traveler. Wether that traveler be a tired family looking to take a break from driving or an inexperienced barbecue critic from Dallas who logs on to yelp once a year, this place is perfectly engineered to sucker them into thinking that they've just experienced real small town Texas barbecue. Service : I have no clue what is going with the reviews. The service is friendly, I'll give them that. But at the end of the day, kindness doesn't make up for a terrible performance. We arrived and were told that we could sit wherever. It was pretty full of visitors of all kinds when we arrived, locals and travelers alike. We had to wait fifteen minutes for a waiter to come to our table to even get our order. We asked her the price of a full rack of ribs which she never found out. We asked for a side of jalapeños which arrived when we were already finished. Th food took FORTY-FIVE MINUTES to arrive. I don't know how one manages to take that long. The check took another fifteen minutes even after the waiter went back to get it. Food : I had the brisket and sausage two meat plate with sides of green beans and coleslaw. The brisket had no discernible flavor and was not very warm. It wasn't very tender either. The sausage however was actually pretty good. It had a good snap when bit into and great texture as well as well distributed spices. What was worrying was that if you got the two meat plate one would only get a quarter pound of each meat. if you got a single meat plate however, you would only get a third of a pound of your choice of meat. With simple math one would conclude that this makes no sense. You should get a half of a pound of your choice of meat if you get a single meat plate. The green beans were cold. I don't know if that's the service's fault or more likely that they were not fresh at all. The sweet coleslaw wasn't really my style but I don't blame them for that. Someone else at the table got potato salad which was best described with adjectives such as warm, sour, and possibly rotten. Overall, not very good. Environment : The environment is okay. I don't expect much from a barbecue joint so I guess it was good. Just keep driving and don't listen to these idiotic yelp reviews telling you that this place is legit.
Great place for a smaller town. The brisket was lean,, really good! They have complementary beans that are awesome. Friendly staff, highly recommend this place if you find yourself going through town
Rolled into this place to eat and let a storm pass on our road trip. Even though it was getting close to closing time, the service was very friendly. I loved the rustic feel of this place and if it hadn't been raining the outdoor screened eating area would have been nice. The waitress helped me make some great choices off of the menu. My husband really liked the beans which are complementary at the salad bar area. We got the sampler plate which included sausage, jalapeño sausage, ribs, and chopped brisket. My husband liked the chopped brisket and jalapeño sausage the most. I loved the chopped brisket...so tender and juicy yum! My little guy liked his order of cheese sticks and loved the curly fries from our sampler plate and ate them all. I'm glad we found this little place!
Absolutely great catfish and burgers for a bbq restaurant. Don't forget the peach cobbler and ice cream, delish! Every time i come in I'm welcomed like family. Brooke and Tessa really make you feel at home. I guess you can tell you love the place if you're on a first name basis. Lol. Keep it up guys and gals!
Delicious! Chopped brisket was amazing. Same with the homemade sauce and complementary beans.
