The Lone Chicharron Taqueria - Seward

Authentic Mexican fast food at its finest. We decided to skip it the first night because of the long line, but we came back for lunch the next day. There are only a few tables, so be ready to enjoy your meal while standing.

The staff were efficient and friendly, and while the building itself wasn't anything extraordinary, it was clean. I ordered the Rockfish Taco, which was generously sized and well-breaded, but unfortunately, it lacked flavor. It felt like it needed something more. Although there was some spicy red seasoning on it, it didn't enhance the taste or add any real flavor.

Overall, it’s a great fast-casual taqueria. The only thing it lacked was house-made chips, salsa, and guacamole. We didn’t come across guacamole often in Alaska, so it might be challenging or pricey to source there. The service was friendly, and the place was bustling. When all the tables were full, we were informed that The Lone Chicharrón has a connection to the bar next door, which featured a pass-through window for orders. We tried to order drinks from the bar, but I had forgotten my ID at the hotel and wasn’t allowed in. Fortunately, by the time we figured that out, a table opened up in the taqueria, and we were able to order drinks there instead. We opted for two combo taco orders plus one extra taco to sample each type on the menu, and all of them were delicious. I also appreciated the self-serve salsa bar. I would definitely come back!

Was so lucky to come in here on a recent trip to Seward! The food was amazing! highly recommend carne tacos! They have a salsa bar so you can add what you want! Staff are amazing! Second time there I was running late to catch my train and they helped pack everything quickly and safely so I could run to catch it! My friend is vegetarian and they had great options for him also!

Easily the best mexican food in Alaska. I wish it was less than 3 hours away from me, but whenever I’m in Seward I always get me some tacos before I head back home
