Bidrage med feedbackAs for the food, it was just average. We ordered French toast, pancakes, oatmeal, a bagel, and some burritos. The quality was what you might expect from a remote town in Alaska. However, the rude service really overshadowed our experience. On a side note, there were many Christian signs around, and the loud Christian music playing inside was not enjoyable. If you're going to treat customers like this, it might be better to take down those signs.
The person working behind the counter—who I assume may have been the owner—was also rather unsettling. He launched into an unsolicited conversation about personal freedoms and how we’re lucky not to have to wear masks like in the lower 48 states, even though the mask mandate has already ended. It was early in the morning, and all I wanted was a coffee. Overall, I found it to be a very strange experience. I would definitely recommend avoiding this place and opting for a different restaurant instead.
I generally enjoy supporting local businesses, and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, hoping they were just having an off day. That being said, both staff members at the counter were quite dismissive about every item we ordered. I can only assume they woke up on the wrong side of the bed. On a positive note, the food was excellent!
Great little café! It clearly emphasizes that it's not fast food—it's about enjoying good food. They have an excellent grill and delicious baked goods. Make sure to stop by early in the morning if you want to grab some bakery items, as they tend to sell out quickly! I also love the soft Christian music playing in the background.
I can't express enough how much we loved the generous portions of biscuits and gravy, the enormous cinnamon rolls, and the apple fritters! I highly recommend this place!
