Meson Guadalquivir - Sevilla

Four of us had 8 tapas dishes all suggested by the restaurant, delicious. Also wine suggested Tinto de Verano and then excellent coffee, we were amazed by the good value of all this. Service was great.

Just up the street from the NH Viapol hotel, so it became our local. Every night had a different customer base, so a real insight into normal life in Seville from football to a birthday party. The staff are super friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. When you meet the boss at a different bar and he buys you a beer because he recognises you, you know you are in good hands.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, we didn't feel the restaurant's appearance and location matched the prices, as we had equivalent or better tapas for cheaper prices in more central locations and more attractive restaurants in Seville. For a start, it's not like other tapas restaurants where the prices are around 3-4 euros per dish. Here you choose a medium or large size, so the cheapest tapas is on average 6-8 euros or more. Some of the dishes were very tasty (especially the ham croquettes) and we enjoyed the fried chicken (Crujipollo con salsa chilidulce) but this came with thin crisps, rather than potatoes or fries, which we found a bit odd for a dish which cost 9.10 euros. The restaurant is a bit shabby, toilets weren't great and overall we were surprised by the prices considering its location. However, the staff deserve 5 stars.
