Bidrage med feedbackThis is a fantastic spot to escape London for a Mother's Day Sunday lunch. The staff was very friendly over the phone and accommodating when we arrived a bit late for our reservation. The service was great, and the food was not only beautiful but also abundant and reasonably priced. They were very welcoming to our three young daughters. We had a wonderful experience!
This place has a remarkable backstory; it was brought back to life after facing closure, and it didn't need a celebrity French chef to do so. Unfortunately, many pubs in similar situations have disappeared for good. The beers here are exceptionally well-kept, and the selection is impressive, which will certainly help ensure its success. The price of £2.90 per pint, even for higher gravity beers, is commendable as well. Overall, this pub is a gem in the area.
The price was £12 for a generous platter, which was just what we needed for a mid-walk snack. It’s a great option for vegetarians, which is quite uncommon for a rural pub. The bartender was a bit of a character at first, but he's very friendly and made for a good laugh.
A real gem of a pub. a roaring fire, warm welcome and great beer and eat. so beautiful to find a really characterful rural pub. make them the best of it there are not many like this left.
So guiet, great local beers good food. Event room at rear that is just right for smaller to medium gatherings we normally have 20 30.
