The food is always good here but Sunday lunch yesterday was a bit disappointing. The only place I’ve ever been where you have to pay extra for a Yorkshire pudding

We waited over an hour for a food, which was a steak sandwich and chips and when it did finally arrived the steak seemed to be off cuts which were very chewy and gristle. We sent the food back and finally got an edible plate 90mins after arriving. Waiting staff were very polite but the manager was rather passive aggressive when we did complain. It’s a shame because I have been here before and had good experiences but won’t be returning again.

Sunday lunch was excellent and our American friends loved it. The beef was a little grisly in parts but overall tasty and thick cut the Yorkshire pud and vegetables were good. The huge gravy boat was a great move.

The food was excellently prepared and presented, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the decor tasteful, the beer well kept. All on a sunny day to boot!
