Saca Rolhas - Setúbal

Popped in for an evening meal when many places closed for Shrove Tuesday holiday and had a really nice meal. Shrimp and bean stew was magic. Wine perfectly nice. Pork steak flavoursome. Shocked to see the Tripadvisor rating. Did we just catch this mom pop restaurant on a good night? Sure the waiter had no English, but we rubbed along just fine.

The Fish was not tasty and we found hair and a dead fly on the salad....! Moreover, The employee was not friendly so I do not recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant looked appealing enough, so I went in, for dinner last night, even though it was virtually empty while places down the street had customers. I was a fool. I ordered fried cuttlefish, the regional specialty. The waiter confirmed that I wanted it served with salad and fried potatoes. The custom in a mid-range Portuguese restaurant is for a main dish priced as this one was, at a sit down restaurant, to include a starch and some kind of vegetable matter or other. (That was my experience at lunchtime in a very crowded place just down the street. However when I was presented with the bill, extra charges were made for both the simple green salad and for the potatoes. The food was OK but nothing special. The service was perfectly good. The house wine was average.

Um espaço agradável, comida bem servida...já lá fui 3 vezes e quando vou a Setúbal gosto sempre de ir lá comer!!!O choco frito com as batatas fritas sempre muito bom!!!!

Das Restaurant ist absolut empfehlenswert!!!! Ich habe die köstlichste Dorade in Setubal gegessen und das für nur 8.00€. Auch der Besitzer war super freundlich. Ich werde auf jeden Fall zurückkommen und das Restaurant empfehlen.
