Rifugio Bocchette - Seren del grappa

While traveling in Northern Italy we came across this gem. The service was excellent, the food native to the area and the views spectacular. We were also able to arrange accommodations here, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Waking in the morning to the sound of cow bells as the cows made their way back to the nearby stable. Would I come here again? In a heart beat. Too bad they are in Italy and we in the USA.

Con gli amici abbiamo percorso il sentiero vicino al rifugio e poi abbiamo pranzato lì. Il posto era caldo e accogliente. Ho apprezzato la raffinatezza dei piatti. La pasta era fatta in casa e di vari tipi con ingredienti di qualità. I dolci erano eccellenti e fatti in casa. Il prezzo era adeguato per la qualità del cibo che abbiamo mangiato. Torneremo sicuramente.

The location is nice, but the service was incredibly slow (2 hours and a half for lunch). The menu is not what you expect for a mountain location but not as good as a fancy restaurant. The amount of food was very small. I gave 2 star as the meat was actually good (the pasta was nothing special, though). Finally, the food is definitely overpriced.

Nice location but unfortunately the service was very disappointing and the food as well! Asked for a larger antipasto/starter but was same sized as the normal one! Then had to wait for 1 hour for the pasta which was not good!! We wanted to order something else but the waiter never came back so we left!! Shame for the nice views but I had good memories of this place of a few years ago and was so disappointed today!! Bella location ma servizio troppo lento e cibo non ottimale!
