Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant/café specializes in red bean bread (patjuk) and offers several variations of it. The plain patjuk (dongji patjuk) is not sweet and is served as a main course along with hearty side dishes. Unfortunately, the kimchi contains fish sauce, otherwise, this whole place could be vegetarian. However, the porridge itself is plant-based if you avoid the kimchi. In addition to the savory options, they also offer sweet red bean bread (danpatjuk) for dessert, which can be combined with other sweet treats like ice cream, bingsu (shaved ice), injeolmi rice cake, and steamed rolls (although the rice cake contains milk). Vegans can opt for the sweet porridge alone or with the rice cake. The danpatjuk is garnished with cinnamon, jujube, nuts, and seeds, and is beautifully presented. The smooth and silky consistency of the porridge stands out, and the sweetness level is lower than at other places, which some may find pleasant. They also have a drinks menu featuring simple options like coffee, lattes, matcha lattes, and Korean teas. The café is located on a small and quiet street, with a spacious layout and a clean and bright atmosphere. There is plenty of seating and Wi-Fi available for those wanting to linger. Red bean is a very traditional dish here, but often it is too sweet or processed. Here, everything is made very well. You can still taste all of the beans! The sweet porridge was so delicious that I can't wait to try the savory porridge next.
This restaurant specializes in a traditional Korean red bean porridge called Patjuk. They offer various versions of this dish, including a simple and unsweetened Patjuk Dongji Patjuk served as a main course with hearty side dishes. The only non-vegetarian item on the menu is the Kimchi, which contains fish sauce. However, the porridge itself is plant-based and can be enjoyed without the Kimchi. They also offer a sweet red bean bread dessert called Danpatjuk that can be paired with other sweet treats like ice cream, shaved ice, rice cakes, and steamed buns. Vegans can opt for the sweet porridge alone or with rice cakes. The Danpatjuk is beautifully garnished with cinnamon, jujube, nuts, and seeds, and has a smooth and silky consistency with a lower level of sweetness than other places. The café also offers a selection of drinks including coffee, latte, matcha latte, and Korean teas. The café is located in a quiet alley with a spacious layout, clean and bright atmosphere, ample seating, and Wi-Fi for customers to relax and enjoy their visit.
