The striking name 'league of captain ' summons curiosity and a figment of imagination for my mind, I mean what is it ? I was under the impression that the place has a superhero themed restaurant or cafe at first. However, as I was walking along the 'Row KL ', glimpse of this place catches my eye, and I was surprised to find a quaint, boutique styled cafe with a rather simplistic decor, clad in glass, black painted metal and natural wooden furniture, hipster-decor as I call it. <br/ <br/ I 've only had a Piccolo RM9 on my visit, and the flavor, acidity, aroma and body of their coffee matches my liking. In the same light, I was also fascinated with its selection of desserts, sandwiches and fresh food. Their drinks selections is broad, certainly a place for coffee buffs: espresso, long black, macchiato, cappuccino, flat white, mocha, adffogato, matcha latte, hot chocolate and a wide selection of homemade teas. <br/ <br/ Prominently displayed at the order counter is the fascinating desserts for those with a soft spot for sugar, a range of brownies (salted caramel brownie RM 9, triple chocolate brownie RM5, coconut brownie RM 6, rainbow brownie RM 1), chocolate chip cookies, a range of cheesecakes and even a breakfast jar. <br/ <br/ Savory preference is also met with a choice of Nasi Lemak (a Malaysian favorite), rustically paper wrapped sandwiches: beef/chicken sourdough RM 15, Ribeye/Chicken Baguette RM 15 and Salmon Baguette RM 15. <br/ <br/ At a peek, the cafe looks small, leaving out the fact that the cafe has two floors, a lower and upper floor. The space is enough to accommodate 30-40 people in one space, moreover for those who smoke, there is a charming balcony made just for you to puff your vapor and smoke. Kudos for the cafe to accept debit/credit card for payment, very convenient indeed. <br/ <br/ Parking is available in adjacent buildings along Jalan Doraisamy and Jalan Sultan Ismail. My suggestion is to either park at Quill Mall and walk across, or better yet walk here for those who are in KL, the Medan Tuanku station is the closest stop for those taking the Monorail. While for LRT hoppers get off at Dang Wangi Station, take exit A, cross bridge across canal, cross Jalan Raja Abdullah at traffic lights, turn left into Jalan Yap Ah Shak, follow it to The Row
The staffs here always change. Different people everytime i drop by. BUT the service has always been exceptional. Friendly staffs. The price is acceptable. But yes u can get cheaper food elsewhere. The beef baguette is to die for. Please try this if you're dropping by here. Im happy and i will be a returning customer. :
