Comus Inn - Selby

We went for a meal at 7:30pm in Comus inn turkish restaurant and got shown to our table. At 7:45 we had not received our drinks so my wife went to the bar which is not in the restaurant then we waited for another 45mins and no one came to take our order. My husband spoke to the waiter and he was very rude and basically told me to wait. After an hour and 15mins we decided to leave we travelled 40 miles to go to this restaurant. Would not recommend it at all! Very poor service! Only 2 people taking food orders and cleaning the table and there was around 60 people in the restaurant! Very poor and disappointed! I think an hour and 15mins is enough time to wait for any food no matter how good! Service: 1

This establishment is by far one of the worst places I have ever encountered in all my years. The atmosphere is appalling and there is more excitement in a funeral. The food is vile and for the price it is definitely much better to go to your local foodbank and dig out an out of date Irish stew. I have had diarrhoea for the past few days which makes the experience all the more enjoyable, NOT!!! To make matters worse, the bar staff are incredibly rude and speak to you like a piece of rubbish, whilst always changing the prices of drinks which to me smells a bit fishy, just like the rest of this place! I will definitely not be returning to the place in the near distant future until the staff change, or the dreary atmosphere and puny food resolves itself. My stay was a delight. On arrival our room was not quite ready so we were offered complimentary drinks whilst we waited. The room was a little smaller than I expected but did have a huge comfy bed which is all I had hoped for. The room also had a dressing table, mirror, night stand, kettle, tea and coffee supplies but no milk so bring your own if required. There were also no bin bags for rubbish so once again~bring your own! The room we stayed in room 5 also had ample plug sockets 3 double so no having to bring extention leads ect. There is also a small en-suite shower with toilet. I would definitely stay here again but on a lower level due to having a disabled friend with me and a dog our room was up one set of metal stairs which was about 15 steps . There is also a nice sized tv with access to Netflix ect if you have an account. As this is an honest review... some people may be bothered by the sound of the traffic passing by, It can be abit noisy but that never bothered me. On the whole. Clean, comfy and lovely and warm. Visited the restaurant on 2 September. First time, won't be the last. Service was excellent, food delicious. Staff helpful and friendly. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
