The Swan - Sefton

Decided to try this place after reading the reviews. The portions were small for the price and the fish was a bit fishy tasting, but it was pretty good. Didn’t live up to the hype.

What a place to go absolutely a Golden Star in the Chip Shop World. We called in here on a Sunday afternoon having had family recommend it and I can honestly say this place is a gem. We were warmly greeted by Annie and then shown to a table and Annie was so friendly and helpful. Choice of food is excellent and it’s all cooked freshly for you. We all, including my 8 year old daughter went for the Fish Chips, they all did the small plate offering and I went for the larger portion. I’ve always been a bit funny with fish but honestly I have never experienced fish so tasty, fresh and white and the batter was also just right. We all devoured the food and Annie kept making sure we were ok and didn’t need anything else. The atmosphere is also welcoming and it is kept clean and tidy and all the other staff were again friendly and pleasant. Annie really did stand out though and we will certainly be back again for what I consider to be the BEST Fish Chips in Southport.

I often visit The Swan fish and chips restaurant in Southport on Sundays. My usual order is cod, chips, and carrots with a milky coffee. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff are exceptional and very attentive. The prices are reasonable as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. I always leave my tip for Annie when I visit. Can't wait to come back again soon.

The food at this restaurant is consistently excellent. Since our first visit in May 2023, we have never had a bad meal and have returned 8 times. This is by far the best fish and chip shop in the North West.
