Bidrage med feedbackWe stopped there on our hike through the Saxon Switzerland. We did not want to sit inside so we took the self-service terrace. But: There was a long row on the service window even on a quiet Saturday, it took 15 minutes to get a beer, it was badly organised and with two coffees the stuff was overwhelmed. Not again!
We visited this attraction having taken a ride on the historic tram from Bad Schandau to the waterfall. There appeared to be quite a number of options on the menu, but nothing very exciting. Nothing wrong with this place, but nothing that attractive either.
Food was excellent. As well as the accommodations in the hotel. Everything far exceeded our expectations. Wish we stayed longer.
Made a spontaneous decision to eat here after seeing the food being served. Sat in the main restaurant area. Old fashioned but I like that. Menu was reasonable and meal of the day was reasonably priced. Service was a little slow but it was busy. Waitress was friendly and helped out with language translation. Food was clearly cooked fresh and not a microwave. Food was tasty and hot. Good local beer choice.
We just had a light meal after taking the Kirnitschtal train there to walk/hike the area. We enjoyed their house speciality of smoked trout with cranberry and horse radish sauce (though it just had 2 potatoes at the most). Dessert was a local specialty cake which tasted similar to cheesecake. All together it wasn’t too bad.
