Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly server who was attentive throughout the meal, took his time with us, and made sure we had everything we needed. We requested a dish that wasn't on the menu—filetto di pomodoro pasta—and Angela took the time to ask us exactly what we were looking for. As they had all the necessary ingredients, they were able to prepare it for us, and I appreciated that she clarified our expectations. The dish turned out perfectly. Our party consisted of five adults and four kids. We ordered several appetizers to share, including rigatoni a la vodka (which my brother claimed was the best he’d ever had), rigatoni filetto di pomodoro (off the menu), Caesar salad (which I photographed after it was nearly finished), and fried mozzarella (not pictured). For our entrees, we had two chicken parmigianas (we requested French fries on the side, since we had pasta as an appetizer, and they were happy to accommodate us – the fries were excellent), chicken Bacetto (off the specials menu, featuring chicken with prosciutto, spinach, mushrooms, melted mozzarella in a wine/Marsala sauce, served with mixed veggies and roasted potatoes), linguini with clam sauce, and two orders of chicken fingers and fries for the kids. Angela also showed us their “family deal” takeout menu, which I’ve noted down and will definitely try in the future. Overall, we had a wonderful meal and will certainly return. The standout dishes were the pastas, but we look forward to exploring more items on their menu. If you're looking for a trendy spot, this isn't it, but if you want a delightful meal with a warm and welcoming staff, you should give Il Bacetto a try! It reminded me of a more casual Molto Bene, but with much more reasonable prices. I also noticed that the owners' daughter has opened a restaurant called Off the Brook in Merrick, which I’ve been wanting to check out as well.
