Bidrage med feedbackThis had to be some of the worst Mexican food Ive had. Shrimp quesadilla was floating in grease. Chips were stale. Very bad experience.
I ordered the chimichangas a la carte. I ordered two shredded beef, but instead I received three filled with ground beef. I think the description for the a la carte item was incorrect, perhaps-but Im not really complaining. They were absolutely delicious! The ground beef was super well seasoned and moist. Ive had chimichangas from others in which the filling was super dry and bland. These were flavorful and still crispy. They were very filling and Id definitely order them again! Mi Cozumel also has the perfectly thin tortilla chips where others are far too thick. My favorite Mexican place in town!
Don't overlook their Horchata; it's one of the best I've had in Cincinnati, and I loved the strong cinnamon flavor. The Campechano Street Tacos had two fattier pieces, but aside from that, the cooking, seasoning, and garnishing were spot on! The Lobster Shrimp Burrito was also pretty good. Just a heads up: I'm fairly certain they're using Langostino Lobster, which is not true lobster but a decent, more affordable alternative. The Mexican cheese sauce on this dish is just a basic white cheese sauce with nothing special added. If you dig a little deeper, you'll find the areas where more lobster and shrimp are concentrated, and that’s where everything is cooked and seasoned perfectly. If they added just a little chorizo on top of the burrito along with the cheese sauce, I’d probably want to order it weekly! However, I won't pay extra for it because, even with the rising food costs, $21 feels steep for this dish as it stands. Overall, it was a great first experience, and I'll definitely be back to try more soon!
The chips were stale, the salsa wasn't great, and it could have used more Tajín. Overall, it was a good experience, though.
The burrito was decent—not exceptional, but good. The street corn (elote) was quite bland. The Arroz con Pollo had no cheese sauce at all, and the chicken was very dry. It also lacked Aqua Jamaica. For $7, getting only about 4 ounces of cheese dip seems ridiculous. I was really disappointed after spending $80 on this meal.
