Gastronomie am Heidweiher - Schwalmtal

I visited the Heidweiher and the gastronomy very often, and I am always looking forward to the friendly staff and the delicious food. They sit there very comfortably with a view of the lake. The hygiene measures adapted to the situation make it easy to feel comfortable

After the long waiting period, because of the pandemic, we were again very happy to visit a place that is very beautiful in the forest on a lake without great effort. We reserved a table for four people and were also very pleasantly placed. Then we ordered food and drinks. The waiter said the latter without a drink card: I am the beverage card. But how to choose drinks if you don't know what there is. So we took acquaintances, beer, wine, bitter lemon, later coffee. The dishes were always very good to the asparagus soup, which seemed too watery. The surprise came when paying the bill. The price level seemed to have risen somewhat during the shutdown. We also did not receive a detailed list of the invoice. It's a little weird. There were the two musicians who interpreted famous melodies and were there for about half an hour.

The restaurant is easy to reach on foot, by bike and by car, as it offers enough free parking and direct access from the street. In my opinion, the food tastes good and has an above-average price level. (The menu with prices is available on the homepage. All this actually offers a good potential, but I have made the following negative experience that makes the restaurant no longer attractive to me My fiancée and I recently visited the restaurant with our 9-month daughter on a walk to eat a soup as a snack for snack and enjoy the first warm sunshine on the restaurant's terrace. We ordered a goulash soup that was written according to the menu with 3.50€ (also online in the menu). After I wanted to pay, we should pay €13 for the 2 soups! We said we all had a terrain (0.4l for 6.50€! instead of the usual 0.2l cup for 3.50. This additional size is neither found in the menu nor was it ordered by us! Apart from the fact that the goulash soup was not particularly tasty, the other size did not notice us, otherwise we would not have eaten it at the price (because we had not ordered this size.

Sorry, the breakfast buffet was thirsty in the selection where I had more at home. Brötchen were fresh, but not warm the same was for scrambled eggs and bacon.

The service was so (customer) friendly! We were quite happy with the quality of the food and the size of the served portions. They also offer a breakfast buffet on the weekend but we haven't tried it yet.It is located in the woods, next to a small lake with fresh fountain water. We shall try out the beer garden this summer! Perhaps after a short relaxing stroll through the woods...
