Our grandman wanted to go to the stag this evening, so we went on the way without great lead time, a table for six people was not a problem on this Thursday evening in the front guest room. At 01.12.2017, once again in the Golden Deer the Guardian changed. Jürgen sacrificialist is now following Fabian Gieser. For me, the reasons for the frequent change of pawns as outsiders are not comprehensible, yet I am glad that at Schriesheim there is at least the deer, the neighboring emperor had to thank for financial reasons and has entered into the eternal hunting grounds. There is nothing new to say about the building and the ambience, everything has remained pleasantly with the old, so I copy myself here. The guest room of the deer can be accessed from the street over 3 to 4 steps through a historic wooden door, via the side entrance through the gate to the beer garden in the courtyard, but the interior of the inn can also be reached evenly, which also applies to the toilets. The deer has a guestroom for approx. 60 people, on the upper floor are the large hall for events and two other smaller guest rooms, which are probably mainly used for celebrations. The two-part guest room with the large counter in the rear area sprays a historical charm without old jaws, in the front area more the tables for two to 6 people, larger groups can find space in the rear guest room without any change of furniture. Golden deer front guest room Bright walls and ceilings, including the wooden beams placed in a bright grey accentuated, form a pleasant atmosphere with the dark old tile floor, which in red and orange-tone pictures on the walls loosen the whole skillfully. The wooden tables are also covered this evening with red fabric tablecloths, red paper napkins, cutlery, water glasses, salt and pepper shakers, a candle and fresh flowers. The wooden chairs with seat cushions offer pleasant seating comfort, in the niches to the street side take over this padded benches. Wall lights provide pleasant and sufficient lighting. Since nothing has actually changed at the interior device, in turn 4 has changed for the ambience. The service provided a friendly and carefree service, be it in the richness of menus, the reception of drinks and food wishes and the serving of the Selben. Demands for satisfaction, as well as for desires, were something to reorder. Also the payment process with proper invoice worked smoothly. We are not here in the star restaurant, here counts loose kindness and not the perfect lifting of the plates, therefore 4 for the service. The boys chose how it could be different, a scavenger of Viennese style with pommes. Of course, with ketchup and Mayonaise, culinary demands probably change with the age, the guys found it as expected. From the optics it looked good with the wavy panade and the wide pommes. Golden deer children's carving The mother of the two Schnitzelfreaks decided to french breast filled with sheep cheese on parchment vegetables, basil Grießnocken and tomato butter € 15.90, the paternal side of the Schnitzel fraction decided to Rumpsteak from Argentinian Black Angus Rind with red wine – Cranberries, Fleur de Sel and Lemon Carrots – Pepper 50 My wife was absolutely satisfied with her choice, the turtle breast filled with sheep's cheese was juicy and well seasoned, the paprikage mice did not boil and the atrocious pecks both tastefully and from the consistency all right. The Rumpsteak fried as desired medium and well seasoned, the herbal butter in my opinion homemade and suitable for steak. The roast potatoes in some places already slightly dark but with bacon and parsley tastefully. And if I wrote that, I would miss the red wine – cranberries. These were missing until the end. The taste of the Rumpsteak did not break down, but it certainly would not have harmed the overall experience. I don't want to burden this mistake with the service now, the kitchen has to get itself, but regrettably if two components are forgotten in one plate. It's just small things that bother. And they could be put off without great effort. That is why for food only 3.5, more would have been possible without problems. There is nothing to complain about cleanliness in the local and in the toilets, so here 4 . At the PLV, I would of course have to give 5 because we were invited to charge a complete compassion of the family without the own wallet. That is why I do not have an invoice, but I have an amount of 122 euros in my ear. For six people, I therefore evaluate the offers in the deer from the prices as fair, with the little patzers at me 3.5 . The deer is also a pleasant destination for a return even after the change of the pawn. And if the small mistakes are still discontinued, the stay can be made even more harmonious, whether for food or just for a well-kept beer or a beautiful glass of wine. As a total conclusion: 4 – happy again, the small problems should and must!! However, the team still get in touch with 1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – definitely back to kitchen trip.
Als Spontanesser, d.h. außerhalb der sonst üblichen Küchenöffnungszeiten, überfiel uns am Sonntag Nachmittag der Hunger und wir suchten entlang der Bergstraße ein Lokal. So führte uns der Weg auch nach Schriesheim und durch Zufall in den Goldenen Hirsch. Es wurde eine angenehme Überraschung. Das Ambiente des Lokals steht im krassen Widerspruch zur hervorragenden Küche. Das kalte Gurkensüppchen war erfrischend und geschmacklich ausgezeichnet. Ebenso die Creme von Waldpilzen meiner Frau. Meine Sülze vom Tafelspitz mit Bratkartoffeln entpuppte sich als Highlight. Meine Frau versuchte den vegetarischen Pfannkuchen mit Pfifferlingen. Zum Nachtisch verputzten wir dann noch die Rote Grütze und die Dessertvariationen, die beide auch ganz köstlich mundeten. Das gute Bild wurde durch eine sehr zuvorkommenden Service abgerundet.
We ate inside and were happy to receive menus in English. Our vegetarian got a huge salad. Two of us got the Grilled Turkey with Cherry sauce (delicious). My husband ordered the hake (fish) dinner. He spent a lot of time removing the fish skin and some kind of coating.. His dinner was not very appealing.Our server was either extremely slow or wanted to ignore us. We had to ask several times for another liter of water - we had to wait at least 15 minutes. Likewise with our check. He would just sail right by us many times and not even look at us.
Wir schätzen die sehr gute Küche im Goldenen Hirsch: Dieses Mal wählten wir - unter anderem - ein Rumpsteak mit Spargel. Das Rumpsteak war einfach superb, ganz wunderbar, köstlich, die Spargel dageben waren leider etwas holzig, sehr schade! Das Ambiente der Gaststube ist leider nicht wirklich gemütlich und bei unserem letzten Besuch war es darüber hinaus in der Gaststube "lausig" kalt. Wir empfehlen deshalb unbedingt warme Kleidung an kühlen Tagen. Der Service war an diesem Tag zwar weitgehend höflich, aber bei weitem nicht so entgegenkommend und freundlich, wie wir es an anderen Tagen in diesem Hause gewohnt waren und wie wir es ganz besonders zu schätzen wissen.
