Beer Garden and Restaurant at Gasthof Kohlhiasl

Situated slightly above Schönau on Lake Königssee, one has a magnificent view of the mountain world of Berchtesgadenerlands from the beer garden (approximately stop as from a Touri brochure, but what should it be, so eat it now). So the beer garden is super beautiful and in the middle are also shade-giving chestnuts. The food was great, we had ordered 4 dishes, it was plentiful and delicious. Clear recommendation!

July 2014: The beer garden has addressed us during passing, so we go to dinner in the early evening. You can sit beautifully under chestnuts overlooking the mountains. On the map there is a meat dish with cheese. I wanted to know what cheese is used for the dish: Answer: I don't know how they do it. ... I had to ask the service kindly, then ask in the kitchen. Result: Emmentaler. So I chose the Almschnitzel Corden Bleu because with mountain cheese. But that was also Emmentaler. I know the difference between mountain cheese and Emmentaler very well! Second dish: The pigeon, was too dry, the sauerkraut did not taste like homemade. Overall, the food was not so stupid! It wasn't in Kohlhiasl. Nevertheless, 3 service personnel were ready. There was a table with about 10 Asians, and the waiter accepted the order. Another waiter ran and shouted audibly: Tell them we only have dimensional beer, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, so I found that cheeky and respectful! The waiter who also couldn't get the important Gastro words English! , sells the adult beer, the kids orange juice with water as a lemonade!? and pure apple juice because he couldn't explain what apple juice choir is. People had the only English card!!! of the restaurant ten people. Of course, the decision of the people and the order intake took quite long. In the meantime, new guests came: 8 Russians. They had to wait for the only English card. After about 20 minutes, one of the two waiters became Russian, as suddenly turned out to the people when he ordered without the end. Help menu. The service is chaotic and dishonest. We felt that. We sat and had to wait all the time until we were allowed to pay. We said that before. Conclusion: The staff should be trained urgently. Service and chefs. We're not going.

We had a great time tonight. Very delicious food, many options in the menu, staff was very friendly and beautiful. We could pay with the card (not so often in Germany).

Menu is extensive and wide variety. Food was served quickly considering how sweat restaurant was. Entertainment was good and low key so that convenient conversation at the table. Reliable dining room friendly dinning.

Me and my friend came to this place and were greeted and sat down. Then we waited for more than 20 minutes for the waiter to bring a menu. We were speaking English so she went to get an English menu and forgot about us again, the prices are average for this region. The employees are friendly and even though they kept forgetting about us. We were given a salad and drinks and no silver ware, the service here sucks.....
