Bidrage med feedbackWhile taking Scooby for a walk along Hackness Road, I stumbled upon The Rosette, a usually popular spot. However, to my surprise, the place was eerily quiet, with only a few patrons at the bar and no staff in sight. The customers informed me that the landlady was downstairs and would be back shortly with free drinks, but she never returned. After waiting for over half an hour, only two ladies emerged from the back to serve the customers at the bar, unable to assist me with a drink. The whole experience was disappointing and unsettling, leaving me feeling like I had walked into a deserted ghost town. Overall, it was a waste of time and a far cry from a pleasant dining experience.
The restaurant was welcoming and the staff greeted us warmly. They informed us about their new menu, so we sat down and looked through the wide selection of starters and main courses. After some deliberation, we decided to share the 3 starters for £11 deal, which included nachos, mozzarella sticks with dip, and battered mushrooms with another dip – all of which were delicious. For our main courses, we both opted for the Greek Gyros dishes. My wife had hers with a wrap, salad, and skin-on fries, while I had the Gyros chicken and jalapeño chili dish on a sizzle plate with hot vegetables, skin-on fries, side salad, and two wraps. Both dishes came with tzatziki and a drizzle of hot sauce. The portions were more than generous, and we were both completely satisfied. The food was amazing, reasonably priced, and we highly recommend this restaurant if you ever find yourself in Scarborough.
This Mother's Day meal for a table of 8 on 10/03/2024 was extremely disappointing. All our meals were served at the same time, causing some to wait while others ate and leaving some to eat after everyone else had finished. The food was tasteless and my mother's mixed grill was overcooked, with mushrooms and vegetables stuck to the plate and watery peppercorn sauce served late. We left feeling disappointed in the staff and management, but credit must be given to waitress Vee who seemed to know what she was doing.
4* on TripAdvisor is “very good” and it wasn’t that…so it’s getting an average review. Quite big platefuls of food for not much money. Nothing really wrong with it either just average. Lots of dishes not available, including our two first choices. The person behind the till read out the list and looked for an immediate answer. “I need to go and check” I said and there was a slight roll of the eyes. There were too many things to just remember by the time I’d got back to the table. Surely this happens on a regular basis so they could do with a system where customers don’t need to do an impersonation of a music hall memory man to be able to place an order. When it arrived a whisker under three quarters of an hour after placing the order, it was….wait for it….average. A couple of slight niggles, but nothing major. Wouldn’t go rushing back.
Had really enjoyable meal, Vee and the staff made us very welcome including our dog Milly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Definitely will go again. Thank you. Lynn, Bridlington
