Bidrage med feedbackI went here today and ordered the lemon sorbet, it came up with non vegan cream, I found out only after tasting, I told them that I was also vegan. I'm really upset.
This place has positive reviews, so I can only assume that they are struggling with the busy summer season and standards slip. Despite the places with magnificent sea views that offer vegan menus, we chose Gianni's, on a back road in the city, based on the reviews. We tried to book ahead, but the line was (5 times), so instead we tried to go at 6:00. We were shown a table and 3 menus were presented, one with specials, the other two one folder with the main menu, a meat menu and the drinks menus. There was a line on the main menu that says that the vegan menu should be requested. The table next to us had brought new customers to it, but although we were right next to us, we could not get the attention of the staff to demand the vegan menu. Finally, someone came to ask if we were willing to order, and we could finally request the menu. A vegan menu was brought to us and we carefully ordered because the table that came after us already had its starter and it was huge. Depressing, this menu said that vegan wines are available, which I would have preferred if we did not order the beers we ordered in the obvious absence of vegan wines. We ordered the Foccacia to share with olive oil and balsamikum. Two plates were brought to us. They were dirty and greasy. We demanded clean plates and the waiter brought two more plates that were also greasy. In the third attempt, clean plates were provided. The olive oil and the balsamikum are presented in bottles. These are obviously not wiped between customers because both bottles were fat. The Foccacia came and was just the worst thing I had. It was dry and rocky, maybe a few days ago or maybe even earlier made and frozen. We left most of it. The pizza was huge, but the beats were amalgamated into an emulsion like slop, making the thin base tasted like uncooked dough. The chips were good, like the basic side salad. After the meal we had not ordered desserts. The staff are mainly very young people with no one who led them, so they spent most time chatting in the door. They knew to serve the food and delete the tables, but they had significantly little to no customer service training and were not to check the customers had what they needed and were happy. This place is inexpensive and the portions are large, but instead of authentic Italian food, we were left with a feeling of quantity over quality.
This place had a separate vegan menu that was nice to see. However, the pizza base was one of the best I ever had; the base was beautiful and thin and the beats were amazing! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Would go again!
It was a pleasure to see a separate vegan menu. I had the quattro stagioni and it was one of the best pizzas I had. The base was beautiful and thin and the beats were generous. Also very filling! Wished I'd had room for Dessert as the chocolate brownie sounded nice. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the staff was very friendly
We absolutely loved our visit here, vegan menu with lots of options, vegan wine also! Food was absolutely incredible and the vegan cheese was brilliant.
