Bidrage med feedbackOutstanding Sunday lunch. Food was exceptional, best Sunday lunch ever had in a restaurant. Everything was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be returning as live locally. Staff were also super nice and efficient.
The food was extremely disappointing, with very average taste and not worth the price. We would not return to this restaurant. The portions were small and the food was not served hot. We had to wait a long time for our meals, despite being the only customers in the restaurant.
I ordered the smoked trout for a starter, which was supposed to come with fish roe but instead was served with a large portion of capers. This made the dish excessively salty and difficult to eat. The main course consisted of a piece of aubergine, a large slab of feta cheese, and undercooked vegetables, which did not resemble a proper dish. My husband's starter was hot prawns on a cold, poorly chopped lettuce salad with excessive dressing. His main course was a pie that seemed to have been microwaved, paired with undercooked chips. To add to the disappointment, his glass of white wine was not chilled. With so many staff members and no customers, it was clear that the restaurant was not doing well financially. After our experience, we now understand why the place was deserted. It was a bizarre and unsatisfactory dining experience.
Has a lovely meal here for our 4th Anniversary. We married here in 2019 and were a little worried about going back as heard it wasn’t as good these days . However food and service were excellent had a really good evening . Staff were lovely .
We had high hopes for a great lunch at this restaurant, having booked based on the new management and chef. However, upon arriving in the rain, we struggled to find the entrance which was not well signposted. Eventually, we made our way into a quiet bar and were led to the restaurant by a friendly waitress. The menu was cafeteria-style and we found the starters to be uninspiring, so we went straight for the main course. We ordered the hake with "summer vegetables" but were disappointed to find that the only side options were "seasonal vegetables," chips, or salad. We felt that salad wasn't the best accompaniment for a saucy dish and questioned what the seasonal vegetables were, only to be told they were the same as the summer vegetables. The hake was tasty but on the smaller side, and we felt that paying £4.50 for a small portion of French fries was excessive. We were looking forward to dessert, but were disappointed to learn that the desserts were not homemade, despite the website claiming otherwise. We left after just one course, with only one other couple in the restaurant. Unfortunately, even if the new chef is amazing, we won't be returning. We ended up at Deans Garden Centre, where I enjoyed a delicious homemade cherry cheesecake after failing to find parking in Scarborough.
