James Lobby Bar - Saskatoon

With high expectations due to the prices on the menu, we chose a table by the window to enjoy the stunning view. Our server took our wine order, but when the wine arrived, we noticed that the glasses were dirty. When we mentioned this to our server, she said she would wipe them off and replace them if the new glasses were clean. The portions seemed to be uneven. I ordered cod with fingerling potatoes, but our server suggested I also order mashed potatoes. The appetizers lacked balance in flavors. When the busboy cleared our appetizers, our server unexpectedly brought us the dessert menu. The main dishes took a while to arrive, along with some overly grilled Broccolini that emitted a strong gas odor. The music was loud and made it difficult to have a conversation. Overall, considering the high prices, mediocre service, and lack of attention to detail, there are better dining options nearby. We have eaten at restaurants all around the world, and this experience fell short of our expectations given the price point.

This restaurant is a super unique and comfortable lounge with great service. The cocktail menu is incredible and they have a great selection of wine! I would rate it 10/10 and highly recommend visiting if you are in YXE.

We enjoyed sitting in the lounge and taking in the beautiful countryside views. The drinks were fantastic and the staff was excellent. We also had breakfast at the restaurant and it was fantastic.

I had a few drinks at the bar. Cosy little lounge with great service. Didn't have what I wanted on the menu, but made me a Sangria and WoW anyway! it was delicious. Great service and super cozy place to drink.

We had a fabulous evening at The James. Our group had drinks and appetizers which were delicious. A special thank you to our server Leah who provided outstanding service. We finished the night off with beignets which were amazing. It's very stylish and cozy ...we will definitely be back.
