I visited this restaurant last Saturday while passing through the city for lunch. It was very clean and cozy. I ordered the sole and cod with chips, and we were not disappointed. This is how fish should be prepared – perfectly cooked with a light, non-greasy batter. It's some of the best fish I've had in Canada. The service was outstanding, and the takeout fish remained just as perfect. If you're a fan of fish and chips, I highly recommend this place – you won't be disappointed. Irene took great care of us. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!
When the food arrived, it was anything but ordinary fish and chips. The batter was almost tempura-like, and you know how with most fish and chips, the batter tends to be thick and often falls apart? Not this time! The coating was paper-thin, perfectly crisp, and there were four generous pieces of cod. With the addition of fresh sides, it made for a meal that I’m really glad I stuck around for.
I'm quite particular about my fish and chips, so I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious this dish was! I had the fried fish, and it truly ranks among my top three fish and chip meals of all time. It was perfectly cooked—moist and flakey—without a hint of dryness. The batter was just right, too.
When I looked at the menu, I thought: "WOW! This is expensive for Fish Chips '. But instead of going out, I still ordered it. When the food arrived, it wasn't ordinary fish chips. The dough was almost tempura like. And you know how when you order Fish chips, half the thickness is broken. Not here! The dough was paper-thin. And four good pieces of cod! Add fresh cuts, and that was a leak that I'm glad I stayed for. If you like Fish Chips, it is worth stopping here!
