Gulf Gate Food Beer - Sarasota

I’ve been in Sarasota for the past three weeks for work, and every time I travel, I search for a place just like this one – a cozy, almost dive-bar vibe with excellent food. Let me tell you, this place truly exceeded my expectations. Over the course of 12 nights, I visited five times! The boneless wings are absolutely amazing. I also tried nearly every burger on the menu during this time (except for the basic one), and all were delicious. My personal favorite was the "Down the Hatch" burger. As the name suggests, the beer selection is fantastic too! It was the perfect spot to unwind with a few pints and dinner after a long day at work. I've never written a review before, but this place was so good that I felt I had to share my experience.

Fantastic spot! I was searching for a place to catch the Eagles and Phillies games while grabbing a bite. Since it was after 10 PM, my options were limited. Lucky for me, I stumbled upon Food and Beer, and I couldn't be happier. The place was busy, but Katelyn at the bar was attentive and professional. She took care of me right away, and my food arrived quickly. The burger was outstanding—cooked exactly as requested—and the fries were unforgettable. I'll definitely be returning. The prices are also quite reasonable.

The waitstaff were exceptional— friendly, engaging, and efficient. Despite being busy, they made us feel like we were the only customers there. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between being elevated yet still has a cozy dive bar vibe, and I mean that in a good way! Their extensive menu ensures there's something for everyone's taste. If you're in the area, this place is a MUST-VISIT!

From Ohio and came on a whim and this place is amazing! I recommend the pretzel and the burger! Fries are amazing also! Very clean and staff is very friendly! 10 stars!

It was hard keeping myself to my rule of visiting an establishment 3 times before writing a review. I knew from my first step up the little curb from the right in front parking spot; being greeted enthusiastically by a outdoor dining customer; that Iwas going to like this place. The owner and management very obviously have passion for their restaurant. The staff each timehave been friendly without being obsequious. Knowledgeable. Efficient. The menu is very well designed. Not overwhelming, andoffering unique and comfortable foods for all types of diners. It is quite easy to fall in love with several differentitems! The food... Oh the food. The chef actually gives a *bleep*! Everything we have ordered so far... We are working our waythrough the whole menu... Has been artfully plated. Perfectly cooked. Most importantly DELICIOUS! The fries are hand cut andserved in a paper bag. You shake up the bag upon receipt of it to perfectly season your crispy, hot, potatoes of goodness. Thebag also absorbs excess grease so your fries are not disgusting. It is a BRILLIANT idea! I know I am gushing about something sopedestrian as fries... But when your kitchen puts this kind of effort into something so simple... You know their specialties aregoing to be fantastic! And they are! I could write a thousand more words describing it all... But EFF that! Go! Go try it foryourself! You will be happy you did!
