Lucky Pelican - Sarasota County

Been to Lucky Pelican many many times since discovering it 4 years ago. I was always able to get past the sticky floors and worn appearance. You could always count on them to deliver the freshest and most delicious fish dishes anywhere at any price. The last few times i have been stuck on the sake glazed seabass which is their most expensive at near $50. This time the portion was small, one of the vegetables were no good and the plate was swimming in sauce. My fault for not returning it. However , Management needs to get this fixed amongst some personnel issues which i will leave unsaid otherwise it may become the Unlucky Pelican. Hoping this staple i had loved gets its act together so I can enjoy once again…..

The Buffalo Calamari that was ordered came out as original, and by the time it was re-served, the time had passed for an appetizer, so we boxed it up. Our waitress sat with the table next to ours, totally ignoring us the whole time. We had to go to the bar for refills, and the hostess for calamari issue and napkins. The main courses were excellent, which keeps our whole family happy and returning.

We sat at the bar and never ordered anything by the time someone got around to greeting us probably 15 minutes) we had observed and smelt so many things that were foul we decided against eating any seafood here. Members of the staff who were sweating profusely were handling food without gloves. Everyone seemed very very stimulated it was sad and disgusting at the same time

We've been going there for the past 7 years, however it has gone downhill. The table water tasted so bad and stunk you had to buy bottled water. The bathrooms were disgustingly dirty with no hand soap. The health inspections have been bad with many health code violations. Please get back to being an amazing restaurant.

I was sent here by a local and was extremely impressed. Great friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. I would absolutely recommend eating here and will the next time I visit.
