Resalto Tavern - Sarakiniko

We got to know this beautifully located tavern and its boss, Dinos, several years ago. At that time he also ran a small, fine shop in the nearby mountain village of Agia for everyday needs. The Resalto not only impresses with its extremely beautiful location, but Dinos is also a magician for the best Greek cuisine. Whether meat or fish dishes, even a simple portion of spaghetti is transformed into a dream dish. On our last visit, more than 11 years ago, he not only cooked for us the best goat and potatoes we had ever eaten, but also hosted us for free in one of his small apartments, which had not been opened before the season began, and helped got us out of trouble with a technical problem with our car at the time. He organized one of his friends to drive with us to Preveza, where our problem was solved in a workshop. On our current visit, after so many years, it was as if it were yesterday. A warmth and hospitality that is second to none. Once again we were treated like royalty and at the end he gave us a bottle of ouzo to take with us. It was unforgettable when we sat together with him and his friends that evening, played music and drank Kokkino Krassi (red wine) and Tsipouro. Even if the journey from the main street down to the beach and its restaurant takes a little longer, this special location is always very well attended. A clear recommendation from us. One of the best taverns where one could enjoy a view, rest and good food. The children both on the beach and in the tavern are incredible!! Polite and friendly everyone. We had a great time and the food was excellent with affordable prices for everyone. I highly recommend!! Big disappointment! The waiter didn't set the table, just left the plates in a basket on the table. There was bread under the plates that we knew nothing about. We ordered chicken, one of which was dipped in soy and tasted like nothing else. Both portions of chicken were dry. Throughout our meal, the waiter was talking on the phone, also partly while serving us. Great place, but the current staff is ruining the place. We cannot recommend to anyone. The food and service was inferior. We expressed our disappointment to the waiter, but he wasn't interested in our business, and we didn't even get a refund on the bill.
