Pimenta De Cheiro Ilhabela Restaurante

We had our last dinner in Brazil at this restaurant and it was an excellent choice! The staff took great care of us the entire time. The food was great too. I had the fish special with a lovely white sauce. The capirinha was very good as well. Highly recommended!

We ate here 2/3 suppers because it was so good. The prices are very very reasonable. The food is so delicious and the service great. Our waiter could speak some English which was very helpful to us. He even helped us get a taxi. The portions are very large- easy to share.

I didn 't think the staff were prepared and really knew what vegan means. They gave me a vegan menu and I asked which dishes were vegan and they told me the abrobrinha parmegiana was vegan, although when my dish arrived it was cleary not. I am not sure if they had new people working there during high season (I 've been in the island for New Year 's Eve), but I think it was a misunderstanding that could have been avoided. Before you think 'of course parmegiana is not vegan ', it has adaptations that I have tasted using vegan cheese etc, so there 's no excuse. I think a good idea should be separate de menus; one vegan and one vegetarian, so this mistakes could be avoided. Afterall, they changed for grilled abobrinha. But before, when I told the waiter, he seemed to not know the difference between vegan and vegetarians. I told him I was vegan and he said that there were some of us who eat cheese so I told him that this is being a VEGETARIAN, not a VEGAN. My order where ok, nothing special. The beans had bacon as well as the farofa. It is important to know what vegetarians and vegans eat none of them eats bacon. I believe the key is to past the knowledge to the staff about the differences between vegetarians and vegans, so a lot of misunderstandings could be avoided. If you guys have a separeted menu with the intention to welcome vegans, it is important that your staff know what it is so they can give the proper suggestions.

We visited twice the Pimenta restaurant and enjoyed the food the service (and of course) the view. The dishes came very quickly, very well served and tasty. Service is quick and sympathetic. And, off course, amazing sunset views.

Fantastic seaside location, with outdoor seating area, perfect for watching the sun go down. Food was just as good as the view, with generous portions and very reasonable prices as well. Plenty of enthusiastic and efficient staff on hand as well, ensuring a speedy service. Fantastic spot well worth a visit!
