My friend and I were under the weather and spent most of our time at the hotel listening to the rain, the river and the ocean. We were treated to a visit by the resident monkey outside and passed many an hour reading in covered chairs. Staff were very friendly and easy going. Only thing we would change is the exterior lights going off earlier and the AC unit light we had to cover up: Food was good we thought!

Lovely hotel, beautiful setting by the ocean. Saw hummingbirds in the garden plus herons and pelicans. Saw iguana and howler monkeys around the hotel. All the staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was excellent but expensive. Air con was a relief!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Nice and spacious room. Yummy breakfast not everyday available though. Beautiful garden with hammocks and chairs and direct access to the ocean.

Love this place! The location on the point, and close to the water is one of the best on the whole peninsula. The owner and staff are amazing, definitely went the extra mile to make us feel at home and comfortable. I would highly recommend Amor de Mar to any travelers wanting a great place, with exceptional service, in paradise!

Property is nice, and the tide pool is amazing. But the hotel itself isn’t great. Rented Luna and it was a bit of a disappointment. Really dark inside, really rough around the edges. Limited space downstairs, and a quarter of the floor space is taken up by a sort of dusty junk storage area separated by a room divider (see the photo there’s even an old washing machine being stored there). Upstairs is open to mosquitoes, so you need to use the netting when sleeping, which makes the fans a lot less effective.
