Bidrage med feedbackIs there anything bad about this restaurant? No! You walk in the door and you are just excited to be there. The food is beyond delicious. The service is great and all the staff is delightful. Their bakery is full of great breads and treats and the deli is the best. I have never had a bad meal. Make sure to make a reservation just to insure that you don't have to wait for their delicious food.
Great food and service. I regularly get their sandwiches to go. The egg salad and tuna sandwiches are the best in town. Their chocolate babka is out of this world good. Love this place.
I recently moved to Santa Rosa and was really pleased there is a Jewish deli in town. The restaurant is very nice and the staff really tries hard to please. Unfortunately, the food isn't close to what would be considered good in New York (I was born and raised in Brooklyn and although it's been almost 40 years since left still know the difference). This is a summary of two different visits and the food wasn't acceptable for either a pastrami or chopped liver sandwich nor the matzoh ball soup. The soup was actually the closest thing to good I had because the matzoh ball was pretty good; the issue for me was the soup itself, which tasted more like Manishewitz or Goodmans and was way too salty. I also had a chopped liver sandwich and really disliked it. The portionon the sandwich was way too small, the bread did not taste like Jewish rye and, for $14, why isn't there a side dish (like coke slaw or even a pickle) My last menu item was a pastrami on rye and the pastrami had been on the grill just before becoming part of a sandwich. That's just wrong; I can go to Togo's if that's what prepared like that. This review isn't going to change anything at Grossman's so I will have to do without once again.
This was an incredible lunch stop we made while passing through town. Sat at the bar, service was impeccable. Ambiance was bright and crisp. Bartender talked us into polish dumplings served with frozen horseradish vodka. So interesting and absolutely delicious. Also had a fabulous Rueben and grapefruit specialty cocktail. 10's across the board.
Service is lacking at this faux deli in Santa Rosa. Have dined here several times and always have to chase down a waiter for a second round of drinks or a check. Potato pancakes or latkes are my favorite and unfortunately this place hasn't figured it out yet. There first version was kind of like a birds nest , not traditional but crunchy and delicious . Now they serve a more traditional latke but they are consistently raw or undercooked in the middle. Grossmans is a bakery and yet every time I order egg salad or tuna it comes out on a stale piece of bread. Once in a while this place hits but lately has fallen off.
