Carifornia Shabu Shabu - Santa Monica

This was my girlfriend and I's SPOT. So sad to read in some yelp reviews that it's closed forever. I'm definitely gonna double check on that, but this was one of the best shabu places ive been to. the service was amazing, very attentive, sweet, and helpful to me when i was there for my first time. The manager is the homeboy, always giving sake bombs to liven up the place. the food itself was beyond good and their sauces and veggies were 5star.

Ah Eat Shabu. I've gone to you through multiple name changes, management changes, staff changes, and menu changes. (The menu changes every time). But one thing has remained constant. Fairly decent shabu with meat and ponzu that's lacking compared to places like House of Shabu Shabu. BUT, they give you a bowl and a soup base at the end and make a little udon soup, and that makes all the difference to me. As long as they do a soup at the end, I'll keep coming back. PS: ask for hot drops

I had the shrimp and prime steak combo $19 with the regular shabby shabby and I had a wonderful time with my 5 friends! I highly recommend this place, they sat us immediately. Service was a little slow, the server got distracted and left us alone the 2nd half of our meal but we weren't in a rush so that was fine. Staff was friendly and made a last call around 2:15pm when they close in-between for dinner. The veggies were great. I loved the meats. I enjoyed the broth with the noodles at the end! All in all a fine experience. I would come back!

Sadly I am not a fan. My husband likes it but I will not return. When we were there the service was fairly unfriendly.
