My friend Clemente Oropallo, an exceptional Gourmet, loves to give me very pleasant surprises, one evening he sets out for me A REAL Ambush! we arrive in Santa Maria a Vico, in front of the PESKANDO restaurant, I enter and find a magical environment, tables without tablecloths and napkins, but instead disinfected in an exponential way, food, with exclusively fish, as raw material, fascinating, creative, but also linked to the territory, very correct weights, much more than satisfactory, extremely pleasant flavors, impeccable service, fascinating and also creative wine list, with a search for wines out of the ordinary, owner Alessandro Ferrara, chef Clemente Ferrara and Alfonso Verdicchio (strictly in alphabetical order), Umberto Capasso, Maitre d' and Sommelier, all modest young people, but at the same time ambitious, THANK YOU CLEMENTE MY FRIEND !!!!!!!
I went to Peskando for lunch last summer (2023) and we were so pleasantly impressed that we returned other times. In late autumn we realized that the restaurant had been closed for some time, so I asked on their Instagram account the reason for that absence, because we were sorry we could no longer enjoy their dishes. Well, the response of the place (which must have changed management in my opinion, because the owners I met were delightful and polite people) was simply to block me. No explanation, no tact towards a legitimate request from a customer. I would say typical of those who don't have good news to give you, so they run away. Good job.
