Bidrage med feedbackFirst impression of the hotel was a 4 out of 5 stars. Quickly declined from that point on. It's a 50 dollar fee (per night) for incidentals. Mostly all hotels I have stayed at have a 50 dollar incidental fee for the entire stay. We get to the room and the room smelled of someone previously smoking in it. Next I notice the wall paper ripping off the walls on every single wall. Opened up the window to see a big light up christmas tree laying there on the roof right in front of our window. What a nice view right. Plus the Room is designed more like a motel 6 room at that. Went to open the mini fridge and noticed for 1 there is no freezer and for 2 it wasn't cold AT ALL! Proceeded to pull it out of the cabinet they had it closed up in to see if it needed to be turned up and water spilled out all over the carpet. So I made my way down to the front desk and was told they would send someone to check it out. As I stood outside the door waiting for Someone to come check it out I watched staff trying to chase out a crackhead who was hissing and hollering at them. So Someone then made there way to check it out and said that they don't get that cold they are only intended for a 1 night use! We are staying for 4 nights! Made my way down to the front desk again and asked to be switched to another room and the lady at the front desk denied us another room instead proceeded to radio someone to get a fridge from a different room! I wouldn't recommend this place AT ALL. The worst hotel I have ever stayed at and I stay out of town for work EVERY WEEK! MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY! How do the expect me to keep my food that I brought cold!? They could care less.
Woke up early to a private jet landing at the airport next door. Went down to get breakfast but realized that there is no free breakfast here. Then decided to take a deep in the hot tub, but it didn't open until 9am. The room was clean but the wall was ripped and the furniture had wads paper tucked under it. But sure after spending nearly $200 for a night that I would return.
I was double charged for a two night stay because of a mistake in the reservation booking system (not through a third party, but a reservation made through the website of the Radisson Santa Maria). I didn 't realize I had been double charged until I checked my credit card account a week later. I called the hotel. The front desk staff wasn 't helpful and said I 'd have to speak to the General Manager. He hasn 't returned my calls. I called the 800 number for Choice Hotels (parent company) customer service and embarked on a frustrating odyssey of being transferred around, never getting any resolution, getting cut off, and all the time speaking with individuals for whom English is not their first language, who are likely based outside the US, and who clearly are not given any authority to do anything except file an internal ticket. I filed a disputed charge claim with my bank (Wells Fargo) but they can only help me if the Radisson Santa Maria responds to their inquiries. Wells Fargo reports that has not happened. This hotel is an outdated, poorly managed property for which paying once isn 't a very good deal. Paying twice to stay here is nothing short of a scam. Having both the hotel and their corporate parent work hard to ignore you until you go away is probably the worst of all of it.
Do NOT stay here if you have any other option. You won't sleep with all the beeps. The airport is loud as hell. Constant beeping from trucks backing up. The room had a motion sensor light that lit up the whole room and wakes everyone up if you move just a little bit. Horrible. Would give 0 stars if an option.Rooms: 1/5
Hotel is really dated. In need of major renovation. Lobby and halls look ok. The room is terribly old and worn out. The worst part was the smell of the room. Absolutely old, musty and almost smelled like urine. Thankfully just needed a quick stop over on a road trip. Very disappointing!!!
