Bidrage med feedbackI had a terrible experience at this restaurant! The waitress (short black hair, heavyset, with tattoos on her arm—you can't miss her) clearly didn't want to be there. She was pushy, asking us three times if we were ready to order while we were still trying to read the menu. When I inquired about healthy options due to my kidney diet, she rolled her eyes and dismissed my concerns, stating that the diner was old-fashioned. The menu items were unhealthy, and even the table jellies contained high fructose corn syrup, which is not only harmful but can lead to serious health issues. The food felt like it could contribute to heart problems, and the atmosphere was dull, filled with idle chatter and a loud TV in the background. The decor featured crude and offensive signs, making it feel like a haven for a certain crowd. Overall, I experienced bad food, bad service, and a disagreeable vibe. I was eager to leave! I won’t be returning!
If you’ve never visited Halfway House, you absolutely should! We've been regulars for over 20 years, and it’s a beloved fixture in the Santa Clarita Valley. Their breakfast is exceptional. Today, I tried the Chicken Fried Steak accompanied by two eggs, country potatoes, and sourdough toast. The portions are generous, and the flavors are outstanding. My husband ordered an omelet filled with bacon and sausage, along with country potatoes and biscuits smothered in gravy, which he thoroughly enjoyed. One of my sons had the chorizo and eggs, served with tortillas, rice, and beans, while the other had French toast paired with two eggs. We all relished our comforting meals. Although I didn't order it this time, I usually go for their Eggs Benedict, which is simply the best around. Emily was our server, and a big shoutout to her—she’s fantastic! It’s also entertaining to watch the TV playing clips from shows filmed here, adding to the place’s charm. The history is fascinating, but above all, the incredible food is what keeps us coming back!
This is an iconic spot that I've visited many times, and it usually offers a solid experience with good prices and friendly service. However, this was my first visit in about a year, and I’m not sure if they were just having an off morning. My eggs were overcooked, and I noticed the man next to us had burnt toast after catching a whiff of it. The service was pleasant but not very attentive. I hope they were just having a bad day and can get back on track. Regardless, it's still a great place for breakfast!
All ways excellent, clan , from the back to front, nice hambiance, outstanding servers and staff, food flavor and presentation is what this dinner meets in all of my expectations. Muy buen dinner, must visit to see for your self.
Extremely cool and off the beaten path (or heavily beaten in the past) breakfast place. Yes, it's famous for a Pepsi commercial from the 80s or 90s, but inside this place is just super cool.... lots of decoration and the tables have ads from sponsors (genius idea, let the sponsors cover the cost of the new table). Breakfast was surprisingly REALLY good, I'd say in the top 5 in the SCV along with egg plantation and egg n things. Coffee was light to medium roast, closer to medium, but not full bodied medium. Service was super bubbly and attentive. Parking lot is dirt so your car may get a little dusty while parked, but it makes for a more legit, real experience. You'll feel like you've gone back 100 years when you park and eat here.
