Bidrage med feedbackI haven't been back for more than 5 years. The parking lot like I remembered is always full. They have remodeled the inside as well as outside and it still looks warm and inviting. I had the vegan spicy tomato ramen and it was amazzzzing. The broth was spot on. Services was quick and efficient. I'll be back soon to try the other vegan flavor.
This place used to have lines lining outside the door even before it opens. I haven't been back in a long while so I decided to come. We arrived at 5:45 and was surprised that there was no wait and even have plenty of tables left inside. The ramen broth was not rich like before but overall ramen taste is alright. Not special anymore. There is this big frame which serves no purpose at all and it's in the way for the server to bring us food. Very dangerous for the workers. I think they should remove the frame. The setup has changed since time before covid. There are two very large rectangular tables in the middle of the restaurant which took up a lot of space but block the servers going to the other side of the restaurant. Service was just ok. I had to ask several times for hot water. I don't think we will be back. I think even the fast chain ramen stores taste better than here. Also the wait for our ramen took longer than expected as well.
This place has been my go to Rahman spot for years now. Specially, during Covid I came here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and was seated right away. I ordered the orenchi ramen. I like to add corn and extra pieces of pork. This place got remodeled, and it looks great! Totally recommend, and will come back again. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor might be better for toddlers, but definitely doable inside.
If you like fatty ramen tonkatsu broth, this place is for you. Orenchi has always been the OG ramen restaurant that my friends and I went to years ago. My friend and I went on a Saturday night when indoor dining was starting to open. Parking was easy, and the wait was about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the orenchi (tonkatsu) ramen. I added the spicy miso to mine, which is a must if you like spice. My friend got the large which was extra noodles and broth. I felt like the food came out pretty slow, and thankfully, everything was good. The takoyaki were perfectly crisp--I just wish the octopus pieces inside were bigger. Also, the price for these are pretty steep. It was a little over $7 whereas I feel like other places are closer to $5. The ramen is suuuper fatty. The noodles are the thicker ones, and I felt like they were slightly more al dente than I would like. Lastly, the egg was jammy, which I prefer more than the runny type.
I think i forgot to take a pic of the ramen itself, but my girlfriend and I came here since she said this was one of her childhood ramen spots. But in all honesty, this was probably the worst ramen I've had in the Bay Area. The soup was thin and really peppery. The chasiu was pretty subpar compared to the other places, kinda chewy and not melt in your mouth. For my rice bowl, I wouldn't say it was amazing not terrible. Kinda hard to go wrong with chicken egg and rice, but again, the chasiu just brought the whole taste down.
