If you are looking for authentic Korean food, look no further. The Galbi Tang is so good here. Their kimchi is also spectacular and comes as one of the sides. The other two sides are pickled cucumbers and radish, although I was told these sides rotate. The meal was a bit on the pricier side $23). I'm visiting a friend from Oregon so maybe these prices are normal for the Bay Area. I'm really not mad though and cannot wait to come back and try the cold noodles!
I had forgotten about this place until this last weekend and I'm glad I went back. Their spicy Galbi Jjim is so worth the price because it's packed with tender, melt-in-your-mouth short ribs and lots of vegetables (pumpkin, carrots, and broccoli). It tasted very authentic and almost felt like it was homemade. I also really enjoyed their kimchi and spicy pickled radish side dishes. Definitely recommend stopping by, but be prepared to wait since they are always busy. They do have a few tables for outdoor seating if you prefer that, but it's pretty cramped and near where everyone is waiting. I always prefer take out and they were super fast at preparing my order while packaging it carefully. 5/5!
This place is good for soup and Kabi Jim! I went here since college. This Seolleong tang soup is bland and taste with salt as you want. I like this s because I know this is from beef bone and nutritious! Will have kalbi Jim next time!
Galbijjim features braised short ribs that are both salty and sweet, making it a fantastic dish for sharing. Galbitang is a comforting soup that comes with glass noodles, short ribs, rice, and a delicious dipping sauce—just be careful, as the bowl is hot! Seolleongtang might be overshadowed by galbitang, but they're quite different and shouldn't be compared. It’s a milky-white soup with brisket, rice noodles, and rice, seasoned with salt and pepper, and garnished with green onions. The brisket pairs perfectly with the kimchi! Speaking of kimchi, the kimchi here is outstanding! They offer traditional napa cabbage along with zucchini and radish, each providing a unique crunch and burst of flavor. Kunjip is located in a plaza with other fantastic Korean restaurants, which can make parking tricky on weekdays, but it's not too difficult on the weekends. Overall, it's a great spot to enjoy authentic Korean dishes!
