Sarinana's - Santa Ana

I know this place has history and a locals favorite. I will say the enchilada plate was delicious. It's very different with the sweet sauce. The hard shell tacos were good, but not a lot of flavor coming from the shredded beef. We ordered a rajas tamal but were given a pollo Verde tamal. I didn't care about the mistake I was going to eat it anyways, but the tamal was very dry. Not what I was expecting. I have seen a lot of reviews of this place about the tamales but mine was dry. I live in the IE and I made drive to check this place out, it's not a drive I would make again.

We received the Instagram link from a friend, knowing that we are staying in Santa Ana, we wanted to try Mexican local food.And went to eat.The outside of the place has not great appeal., But we got in anyway.The place is small and not too clean.The food..The Albóndiga soup was bubbly and smelly, as in NOT IN a eating condition.The rice was mushiThe tamales have no flavor, the sweet tamales are not sweet enough.The Menudo is warm and ok in flavor.The Birria was OK.I spent 100 dollars on our food and I regret spending that money on a food that is bad or just ok.Definitely NOT coming back.My second choice was IN and OUT burgers which are always Great anywhere you go !

Great local place with obvious history and a lot of character. The tamales and enchiladas are unique and delicious. I'm not a big sweet/savory guy, but their cloying enchilada sauce did it for me, super interesting. The crunchiest hard shell tacos out there and we had the large hibiscus tea as well which was ? definitely check them out!

The flavor from 1939 is still alive in the food and service. A must place to experience true authentic Mexican food. Freshly prepared for every order. Don't be in a rush, just forget about time and travel back with this great place to eat.Kid-friendliness: A family restaurant for 80 years. And kids are still a part of the experience.

Wow great restaurant.. the tamales an hard shell tacos are delicious..Wet burrito is ok..Never seen so many white an Asian people at a Mexican spot lol..Worth trying ?
