Walking up the natural reserve you get to Germagnano, a donkey farm where donkey milk is produced and hand crafted soap bars along with other locally sourced products are sold in Aringa Appesa Restaurant. The atmosphere is simple, yet cozy and friendly. We followed the chef 's recommendation for the day and he didn 't disappoint us in the slightest! Quite the opposite, actually! We were pleasantly surprised to taste simple but very tasty and interesting combinations of ingredients, both typical of Tuscan cuisine, like the 'Ribollita ' dish which despite its look, was delicious on the palate, and the home made veggie chickpeas burgers with mayonnaise and ketchup made by Giacomo the chef! The dessert was absolutely amazing: chocolate cake with hot fondant chocolate heart accompanied by homemade ice cream scoops!!!! Absolute heaven! And if you are not too full (unlikely) afterwards, you can take a lovely walk in the surrounding fields and enjoy some donkey-seeing! A MUST if you are in the area!
