Obon Sushi Ramen - San Xavier

Our server was wonderful and the chef was accommodating to our allergy needs. The only reason I gave 4 starts instead of 5 is that the notes that I indicated about allergies, etc on open table seemed to have been missed.

This is a busy place especially at happy hour, but our server (Caitlin?? took care of us quickly and very well. My husband was pleased with his spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail makis and cucumber salad. I opted for the hot pork belly with a side of rice. Eh--not something I'd ever order again. The atmosphere is quite loud and filled with 20s and 30s. My husband and I are in our late 60s and were definitely the oldest customers there. Had trouble hearing each other above the lively din. There is a patio out front that overlooks the road. There are cooling misters to make the hot temps more comfortable, but you have to not mind having the moisture falling down on you.

The food was soo good! The service was a bit slow but I think they weren't expecting big crowds until later so it makes sense. Even so they were very attentive and nice. Food came out quick too! We really enjoyed our lunch and had a great day! We were never shown any mother's day specials as stated online but it was ok. They definitely need more high chairs, I get it, it's not quite a family restaurant but they only had two.

Food was amazing as always, as was our service. I love the food options at OBON! I was disappointed by the bar though, in terms of selections and I felt whoever manages that area was not performing as well as they could have. It was BOTH Mother's Day and UA graduation weekend; and they were out of Woodford Reserve, Jameson and only had 3 white wines to choose from (2 of which were sweet wines). A Chardonnay should be available on every menu, and not a Reisling or Chenin Blanc. The bar should be fully stocked going into a weekend such as this.

I used to eat here often like 8 years ago and it was really good. Came back to try it again and everything was just okay.
